Last Week's Protests Against G20 London

Exactly one week ago from today, an estimated 35,000 protesters marched through the heart of London against the G20 summit meeting:

[ "
On Thursday 2nd of April the G20 (or G22) are descending on the city in a Summit to address the current global crisis, and to discuss how to “re-stabilise” the world economy and how to re-write the rules of global Capitalism, whilst thousands of people are losing their jobs and homes on a daily basis.

Amid the biggest police operation to be launched in London for over a decade, many UK wide groups and organisations have joined forces for several days of protests and events starting on Saturday 28th until Thursday 2nd, to show a clear rejection to the G20’s ‘solutions’, as well as to propose ways out to the current economic and social situation that go beyond the ‘logic’ of Capitalism. Amongst the 35,000 were Trannies Against Greed.

While The Times and The Daily Telegraph try to erase the power of the protesters by only reporting on the so-called silliness of some protesters clothes or slogans (such as Trannies Against Greed), it's almost embarassing if it weren't so scary to repeatedly see through transparent reportage as systematic journalism: opinions exactly where they are expected, putting the status quo right back in order by demeaning (or not even addressing) the importance of masses of other humans saying, "No! We live in this world too and we do not agree."
