1. Zoo Drama on Good Friday!
On Karlfreitag (Good Friday), Mandy went to the Berlin Zoo like many other Berliners to enjoy the perfect Easter weekend weather. Yet her motives for going were unlike anyone else. Out of nowhere, the 32 year old mother of 1 climbed over the fence, held her nose and dove 3 meters down into the water of the polar bear cage... during their feeding time!

(She looks like she's having the time of her life)
„Sie rief noch so etwas wie ,Yeepee’ und schwamm lachend auf den Mittelfelsen zu. Dort stand Eisbärin Katjuscha.
"She called out something like "Yippee" and swam smiling to their little rocky island off the water. There stood the Polar Bear named Katjuscha. She put her arm around the animal as if they were old buddies.
She had her pullover ripped off and was bit in the shoulder before Zookeepers rescued her in front of a crowd of shocked Zoo Tourists. An ambulance drove her away.

The days following the event, the BZ (Berlin's Größte Zeitung) reported on the full event, under headlines such as "Mandy's Life Fell to Pieces When Love Left Her," "Mandy's Life Before The Jump," and "The Polar Bear Who Attacked: Still Wearing Mandy's Pullover."
Good heavens!
2. Jaana J.'s Birthday!

Jaana J., the Finnish woman who has been living in Berlin's Tegel Airport since the beginning of December, celebrated her 41st birthday on April 15th in Tegel Airport, of course.
"No, this isn't my birthday," Jaana said. "This is Jaana's birthday."
She lived in Tegel airport for over two months before anyone noticed she was living there.
"Jaana is dead. She died in a hospital in Finland. I never want to go back."
"Every morning she goes into the airport bathroom, puts on her make-up, cleans herself and straightens her clothes. With her blonde hair tied neatly in a bun and dressed in black, she looks quite elegant as she wanders around the terminal buildings." (Bild)

She says she dreams of Australia...
